According to Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (2018) New Habari (2006) LTD is owned by two shareholders namely Hassan Haidari (750 shares) and Gulam Abdulrasul (750 shares), who operate also as directors. According to BRELA (2018), the Company is required to update the records on the online registration system (ORS).
New Habari (2006) LTD publishes the newspapers that were formerly published by Habari Corporation Limited which ceased its operation for unknown reasons. According to BRELA (2018), Habari Corporation Limited was incorporated on October, 1 1996 by a group of five prominent journalists namely Jenerali Ulimwengu, Salvatory Rweyemamu, Johnson Mbwambo, Gideon Shoo and Shaban Kanuwa, who were also shareholders. Politician and businessman Rostam Aziz purchased their shares in Habari Corporation Limited in 2006. Consequently, he renamed the company to New Habari Corporation (2006) Limited.
Although he does not hold shares in the company any longer, he is referred to as owner in several occasions.
