Nation Media Group Limited

The Nation Media Group (NMG) has been an integral part of Kenya’s public life for more than half a century. NMG was founded by His Highness the Aga Khan in 1959 to promote the interst of the African majority in the run-up to independence from colonial role in December 1963. Its first newspaper, The Nation rolled of the press on March 20, 1960 as the voice for the majority African population. Since its inception todate, NMG has become the largest private media in East and Central Africa with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania. Its headquarters are in Nairobi and it is listed in the Nairobi Stock Exchange.

Especially since 1990s, the NMG has witnessed dynamic expansion of its businesses and capital development, entered the broadcast as well as online market, and also turned its attention to its neighbours in Uganda and Tanzania.

NMG today has business in publication, printing and distribution of newspapers and magazines, radio and television broadcast, film, entertainment and digital online products in the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania.
